Italian Cake with Ricotta and Chocolate

Ingredients
- 21/3 cups flour
- ¾ cup sugar
- 1 cup butter, sliced
- 1½ teaspoon baking powder
- 1 egg
- 1 tablespoon milk
- 14 ounces fresh ricotta
- ¾ cup sugar
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, mix the flour, sugar, baking powder, egg and milk.
- Add the sliced butter and work in gently.
- Take half the mixture and press into 9-inch baking pan that has been greased with butter and dusted with flour.
- Coat the bottom of the pan with the mixture.
- Mix the ricotta and sugar with a fork.
- Add chocolate chips and mix again, then spread over top of crust mixture in bottom of baking pan.
- Take remaining crust mixture and crumble over the top of the ricotta-chocolate filling.
- Bake one hour at 320 F.
