Viral New York-style sourdough pizza brand to open first Broward County location this month and Palm Beach County this summer
SOUTH FLORIDA – What started as backyard pizza drops inside a gated Boca Raton country club community during the 2020 lockdown has grown into one of the region’s fastest-rising artisan pizza brands.
How Ya Dough’n, South Florida’s cult-beloved viral NY-style sourdough pizza concept founded by husband-and-wife duo Garett and Gabby Goodman, recently expanded into Las Vegas and is now continuing its growth across South Florida.
The brand — recognized for its long-fermented sourdough crust, premium ingredient sourcing, and creative viral pies — will open its first Broward County location this April in Coral Springs, while construction is already underway for a third Boca Raton location, scheduled to debut this summer in West Boca Raton.
How Ya Dough’n has earned national attention including:
- “Best New Restaurants” recognition from Eater Vegas
- Yelp’s Top 100 Restaurants in the United States
- 8 score from Dave Portnoy of Barstool Sports’ One Bite Pizza Reviews
The concept arrives at a time when diners are increasingly seeking out naturally fermented doughs and cleaner ingredient sourcing, with sourdough pizza gaining popularity nationwide as consumers look for alternatives to heavily processed commercial pizza.

Third Boca Raton Location Under Construction
Simultaneously, How Ya Dough’n is building its third Boca Raton storefront, slated to open this summer in West Boca Raton — reflecting sustained hometown demand and continued momentum across Palm Beach County.
“Our growth has never been about hype,” says Garett Goodman.
“It’s been about consistency, community, and quality. We grow because our customers keep coming back — and bringing their friends.”
From backyard oven to multi-location expansion, How Ya Dough’n continues its mission: proving that indulgence and intention can coexist — one fermented slice at a time.
Gourmet, High-Protein Sourdough Crust
At the heart of How Ya Dough’n’s success is its signature fermented sourdough dough — a wild-yeast crust that ferments for up to 12 days before being baked into pizza — a process that sets the brand apart from conventional pizzerias.
Each How Ya Dough’n pie is crafted using Giusto’s Vita Grain 13.5% high-protein organic sourdough flour made from non-GMO, unbleached wheat, free from preservatives, chemical additives and bromate dough conditioners commonly found in many commercial pizza flours.
The extended fermentation allows natural wild yeast and beneficial bacteria to slowly develop deeper flavor, structure, and digestibility while naturally breaking down carbohydrates and producing organic acids that enhance both taste and texture.
The result is a tangy, crispy-yet-chewy crust that many guests describe as lighter and easier to digest, while also naturally developing prebiotic properties that support gut health.
The team produces approximately 2,000 pounds of sourdough dough each week, all made from scratch in-house.
Founder and CEO Garett Goodman explains:
“Most pizzerias are serving 24–48-hour dough loaded with preservatives, greasy, processed cheese, and toppings — that’s what leaves you feeling heavy, bloated, and sluggish. Our gourmet pies and Dough Boys — our twist on classic garlic knots — are made with natural ingredients and fermented longer, creating a crust that’s lighter, crispier, and easier to digest. We often see customers grabbing a pie before or after yoga or pickleball because it’s that clean, that light, and made with real, wholesome ingredients.”
Authentic Italian Cheese, Locally Crafted
How Ya Dough’n’s commitment to ingredient quality extends to its cheese program.
The pizzeria sources fresh handmade mozzarella from Mozzarita’s, a Palm Beach County family-owned cheese maker producing authentic Italian mozzarella using traditional methods and fresh, all-natural ingredients since 2006.
Mozzarita’s mozzarella is crafted using time-honored techniques passed down through generations, resulting in a delicate, clean flavor and soft porcelain-white texture.
The mozzarella is delivered fresh and hand-cut in-house daily by the How Ya Dough’n team, allowing the pizzeria to avoid anti-caking agents and additives commonly found in pre-shredded cheeses.
“We treat pizza ingredients with the same respect as a fine-dining kitchen,” says Gabby Goodman, Co-Founder and Chief Brand Officer. “Every ingredient is chosen intentionally.”
Beyond pizza, the menu also features custom sausage blends and scratch-made soppressata sourced from Chicago, along with premium toppings carefully selected for flavor and integrity.
