The two-unit pizzeria was recently featured in Afar magazine’s “Must try pizza pies around the world.” Harvest’s motto is “Local tastes better,” and the company proudly displays its produce and dairy farm partners and Ohio meat providers on its Web site. The menu of small plates, salads and pizzas have a seasonal focus and pairs robust flavors. The regionally popular Pimiento Cheese is served with organic cucumber and herb and garlic focaccia toast ($7). The Ohio Double Bacon pizza is topped fresh mozzarella, roasted red pepper, Aleppo pepper and oregano ($15). The unique Spicy Yum has a chipotle-spiked tomato sauce and is topped with a Gouda/Havarti blend, chorizo, jalapéno, corn and roasted red pepper ($15).

Bono Pizza

The wood-fired pizzeria connects to its neighboring bar to accommodate customers who want beer, wine or spirits. Bono’s apps menu highlights the Caprese Kabobs, skewered mozzarella, basil and tomato atop arugula with olive oil, sea salt and a drizzle of balsamic glaze ($7). The pizza menu features 19 pies. The Cherry Bomb is topped with an Italian tomato sauce, Thai hot sauce, habañero peppers, fresh tomatoes and fresh mozzarella ($12). Bono offers specials like La Turista with an olive oil, garlic and Parmesan base and is topped with curry, basil, roasted red pepper, red onion, chicken and bacon.

Mikey’s Late Night Slice

The local pizza chain boasts three traditional locations, two non-traditional locations (one in a cafeteria, one in an office building) and a thriving food truck business. Each Mikey’s has a quirky vibe and the pizza company refers to its fans as “pizzafaces.” Mikey’s has a signature Cheezus Crust (American cheese melted atop two slices of pizza and pressed together into a sandwich for $7). Pizzas come whole or in slices. There’s also the Pizza Dawg, a hot dog stuffed with pepperoni and cheese and served in a slice of pizza as a bun ($5). “All the Bacon” featuring Applewood smoked bacon, black pepper bacon and Canadian bacon, was a recent Pizza of the Week.
